Maruti Suzuki Achieves Highest-Ever Sales in FY24-25, UV Segment Leads Growth
Date: 01-apr-2025

Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has announced its sales performance for the fiscal year 2024-25, achieving its highest-ever total annual sales at 22,34,266 units. This marks a 4.6% growth over the 21,35,323 units sold in FY 2023-24. The latest figures reflect the company’s sustained market leadership, especially in the utility vehicle (UV) segment.
Of the total sales, 17,95,259 units were sold in the domestic market, while exports surged to 3,32,585 units, a jump of 17.5% from the previous fiscal year. MSIL also reported monthly growth in March 2025, with 1,92,984 units sold — up 3.1% from 1,87,196 units in March 2024.
Utility Vehicles Drive Growth, Outshine Small Cars
The standout performer of the fiscal year has been Maruti Suzuki’s utility vehicle segment, which includes popular models like Brezza, Ertiga, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Invicto, Jimny, and XL6. UV sales reached 7,20,186 units, marking a significant 12.1% year-on-year increase.
In March alone, UV sales hit 61,097 units, up 4.6% from 58,436 units in the same month last year. This robust performance has helped offset declines in smaller car categories.
Decline in Mini and Compact Car Segments
Despite the gains, Maruti Suzuki saw a downward trend in its mini and compact car segments. The mini segment, consisting of the Alto and S-Presso, recorded a sales dip of 11.5%, totaling 1,25,770 units. The compact segment — featuring the Swift, Baleno, and WagonR — fell by 6.9%, with 7,70,737 units sold over the fiscal year.

Exports See Strongest Year Yet
MSIL’s export numbers have been particularly encouraging, reaching an all-time high of 3,32,585 units — up from 2,83,067 units last year. This growth underscores the company’s growing global footprint, with strong demand from key international markets.
With this momentum and a strong product lineup, including several new launches in the UV segment, Maruti Suzuki appears well-positioned to maintain its leadership in FY 2025-26.
