Volkswagen Golf GTI Pre-Bookings Open in India

Volkswagen India officially opened pre-bookings for the 2025 Golf GTI on May 5, and the response was overwhelming. All 150 units allotted for the first batch were reserved in just a matter of days, underscoring Indian buyers’ appetite for performance-oriented, premium hatchbacks.
Imported as a CBU with Limited Availability
The Golf GTI is being brought into the country as a Completely Built Unit (CBU), which explains its limited numbers and premium pricing. The model marks the return of an enthusiast-focused offering from Volkswagen India, with no confirmation yet on whether more units will be allocated for future batches.
Power Meets Precision
Under the hood, the GTI features a 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine that delivers 265 hp and 370 Nm of torque. It's paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic (DSG) gearbox. The hot hatch can go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds, with a top speed electronically limited to 250 km/h.
Design & Features That Stand Out
The Golf GTI retains its iconic styling cues—an illuminated Volkswagen logo up front, LED headlights, a honeycomb grille, and the signature red GTI accents. It rolls on 18-inch alloy wheels and features dual exhausts at the rear.
