Indian conglomerate ITC Ltd. has announced a strategic acquisition of 24 Mantra Organic, one of India’s leading organic food brands, in a deal valued at ₹472.5 crore. The acquisition is a significant step in ITC’s efforts to build a stronghold in the rapidly growing health and wellness segment of India’s consumer goods market.
Founded in 2004, 24 Mantra Organic has built a robust presence in both domestic and international markets. The brand is known for its certified organic offerings including staples, spices, packaged foods, and ready-to-cook items. With a focus on sustainable agriculture and healthy living, it caters to a growing demographic of conscious consumers in India.
ITC’s acquisition is a clear response to the rising demand for healthier, traceable, and environmentally sustainable food options. Organic food sales in India are expected to grow at over 20% CAGR in the coming years, driven by urban awareness, government initiatives, and lifestyle changes post-pandemic.
The acquisition offers synergy across ITC’s existing food and agri-business units, with integrated supply chains, agri-sourcing expertise, and strong distribution networks. The move will also allow 24 Mantra Organic to scale faster through ITC’s vast retail and digital channels.
Post-acquisition, 24 Mantra Organic is expected to continue operating under its existing brand, but with expanded reach, more SKUs, and deeper supply chain investments. ITC has stated it will continue to support organic farmer networks to ensure supply integrity and community impact.
