On May 13, 2025, Microsoft announced a sweeping round of layoffs affecting approximately 6,000 employees, marking its second-largest job cut in company history. Microsoft plans to spend over $80 billion on AI-related infrastructure this fiscal year, including data centers, partnerships, and internal tools.
