Dharmendra Undergoes Eye Graft, Says ‘Abhi Bhi Bahut Damm Hai’ in Message to Fans

Legendary Bollywood actor Dharmendra was seen in Mumbai on Tuesday following an eye graft surgery. A video shared by paparazzi on Instagram showed the 89-year-old actor wearing a bandage over his right eye, but speaking confidently and affectionately to fans and photographers alike.
“Abhi bhi bohut damm hai, bohut jaan rakhta hoon…Mere aankh mein graft hua hai (I’m still very strong… I’ve had an eye graft),” Dharmendra said while waving to the paparazzi. He added warmly, “Love you audience, love you my friends, my fans. I'm strong.”
Fans Send Well-Wishes for a Speedy Recovery
Followers flooded the comments section of the video with messages of support. “What happened to you Dharamji? Please take care,” wrote one fan. Others praised his resilience, with many calling him an “inspiration.”
For those unfamiliar, an eye graft, or corneal transplant, is a medical procedure to replace a damaged cornea with donor tissue, often performed to improve vision or relieve eye pain.
A Glorious Legacy and Upcoming Film
Dharmendra, who celebrated his 89th birthday in December alongside sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, continues to enjoy an active professional life. He was last seen in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (2023), which was a critical and commercial success.
