Who says indulgent desserts can’t be clean? This guilt-free choco lava cake is crafted using only chemical-free ingredients, offering all the rich, molten decadence you crave — minus the additives.
In a bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, raw cacao powder, and a pinch of sea salt. Mix thoroughly to evenly distribute the ingredients.
In a separate bowl, whisk together honey (or maple syrup), coconut oil, almond or oat milk, lemon juice, and baking soda until it begins to foam slightly.
Gently fold the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Stir just until combined — do not overmix.
Grease two ramekins with coconut oil. Fill each halfway with the batter, place a square of dark chocolate in the center, and cover with remaining batter.
Place ramekins in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) and bake for 8–10 minutes. The edges should be firm, while the center remains soft.
Allow cakes to cool for 2 minutes. Carefully unmold and serve warm, optionally with fresh berries or yogurt.
Pair it with fresh berries, a spoon of Greek yogurt, or a dusting of cacao nibs for a more elevated experience.
