According to law enforcement, the incident occurred late afternoon on campus grounds, sending students and staff into lockdown. Police and emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene and apprehended the suspect without further incident.
The weapon used was confirmed to be a handgun registered to Ikner’s mother, a long-serving deputy with the Leon County Sheriff's Office. The gun was recovered at the scene.

- Counseling services are being made available to students and faculty.
Investigation Underway
