In the early hours of April 21, 2025, NASA and SpaceX successfully launched the CRS-32 mission to deliver crucial scientific research, hardware, and supplies to astronauts aboard the International Space Station (ISS). The launch took place at 4:15 a.m. EDT from Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
Falcon 9 and Cargo Dragon Deliver Vital Payload
The resupply mission used a Falcon 9 rocket to propel the Cargo Dragon spacecraft (C209) into orbit. This particular spacecraft made its fifth flight, showcasing the reusability and reliability of SpaceX’s hardware. The Dragon capsule is scheduled to dock autonomously with the ISS's Harmony module on April 22 at approximately 8:20 a.m. EDT.
- Total cargo weight: ~6,700 pounds (3,000 kg)
- Includes scientific investigations, crew supplies, and station hardware
- Dragon capsule to return to Earth after completing its mission
