“Calling a Gaddar, a Gaddar Isn’t Wrong”: Uddhav Speaks Out
Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray stated that Kunal Kamra’s recent remarks do not warrant backlash, defending the comedian's freedom of expression during a media interaction in Mumbai.
"I don’t think Kamra said anything wrong. Calling a ‘gaddar’ a ‘gaddar’ is not an attack," Thackeray said, urging people to hear the full parody.
UBT Denies Involvement in Vandalism
Thackeray clarified that the Shiv Sena (UBT) was not responsible for the vandalisation of The Habitat studio following Kamra’s show, blaming the incident on what he called the "Gaddar Sena".

Comedian’s Remarks Spark Political Backlash
Kamra, during his set at The Habitat studio, had labeled Eknath Shinde a traitor and performed a parody song mocking the 2022 Shiv Sena split.
Following the act, Shiv Sena (Shinde) workers vandalized the venue, forcing an FIR against Kamra and resulting in multiple arrests from the Yuva Sena.
FIR Filed, Politicians Respond
Shiv Sena MLA Murji Patel filed a formal complaint against Kamra. Meanwhile, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis condemned the remarks as "low-level comedy" and demanded a public apology.
