New Delhi, April 16, 2025 — In one of the most thrilling encounters of the season so far, the Delhi Capitals (DC) pulled off a nail-biting win against Rajasthan Royals (RR) via Super Over after both sides ended their innings with an identical score of 188 runs.
DC skipper Rishabh Pant anchored the chase with a gritty 62 off 38 balls, supported by Harry Brook (39 off 21) and Axar Patel (25 off 11). Their combined effort helped Delhi match Rajasthan's total in the final over, forcing the game into a Super Over finish.
In the Super Over, Mitchell Starc bowled a sensational over for Delhi, conceding just 8 runs and clean bowling Jos Buttler on the first delivery. In response, David Warner and Rishabh Pant chased it down with one ball to spare, sealing a crucial win.
With this win, DC moved to 4th place on the points table with 10 points from 8 matches. Rajasthan Royals, despite the loss, remain at the top with 12 points but now feel the pressure from chasing teams.
Delhi Capitals will face the Chennai Super Kings next in what promises to be another high-stakes encounter. Rajasthan Royals, on the other hand, will look to bounce back against the Lucknow Super Giants.
