The Gujarat Titans (GT) continued their strong form in the TATA IPL 2025 by registering a dominant 8-wicket win over Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on April 2, 2025, at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.
After being put in to bat, RCB struggled initially as GT's Mohammed Siraj struck early blows. Liam Livingstone held the innings together with a composed 54 off 40 balls. Jitesh Sharma added a quick 33, and Tim David provided a late push with 32 from 18 deliveries, helping RCB reach 169/8 in 20 overs.
Chasing 170, Gujarat Titans made light work of the target. Jos Buttler smashed an unbeaten 73 off 39 balls, guiding GT to 170/2 in just 17.5 overs. He was supported by Sai Sudharsan, who scored 49, and Sherfane Rutherford, who finished with 30 not out.
This win pushes GT further up the IPL 2025 points table, while RCB faces its first defeat of the season, raising questions over their middle-order consistency.
Gujarat Titans will next face Lucknow Super Giants, while RCB look to bounce back in their upcoming match against Rajasthan Royals.
