In an explosive IPL 2025 encounter at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on March 25, 2025, the Punjab Kings (PBKS) secured a thrilling 11-run victory over the Gujarat Titans (GT). Batting first, PBKS posted a mammoth 243/5, thanks to captain Shreyas Iyer’s unbeaten 97 off 42 balls and debutant Priyansh Arya’s brisk 47 off 23. Shashank Singh added a late flourish with 44 off just 16 balls.
Gujarat Titans mounted a spirited chase but ended at 232/5. Sai Sudharsan anchored the innings with a gritty 74, while Jos Buttler chipped in with 54. Shubman Gill added a quick 33, but Punjab's bowlers, led by Arshdeep Singh, held their nerve in the final overs.
PBKS all-rounder Glenn Maxwell registered his 19th duck in IPL history, becoming the player with the most ducks in the league’s history. He was dismissed LBW on his first ball and controversially chose not to review the decision, which later replays showed would have been overturned.
GT's R Sai Kishore impressed with the ball, claiming the wicket of Marcus Stoinis and helping restrict PBKS in the death overs. However, Punjab's early batting dominance proved too much for Gujarat’s bowlers to recover from.
