In the 34th match of IPL 2025, held at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, Punjab Kings (PBKS) secured a five-wicket victory over Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in a game reduced to 14 overs per side due to rain. The match witnessed a commendable performance from Nehal Wadhera, whose quickfire 33* off 19 balls ensured PBKS chased down the target with ease.
Opting to bat first, RCB faced early setbacks, losing key wickets rapidly. Tim David emerged as the standout performer, scoring an unbeaten 50 off 26 balls, helping RCB post a total of 95/9 in their allotted 14 overs. Punjab's bowlers, including Josh Hazlewood (3 wickets) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (2 wickets), played pivotal roles in restricting RCB's scoring.
Chasing 96, PBKS encountered some resistance from RCB's bowlers, with Josh Hazlewood claiming three wickets. However, Nehal Wadhera's aggressive approach turned the tide, as he smashed 33 runs in just 19 deliveries, including three sixes and three fours. His partnership with Marcus Stoinis, who contributed an unbeaten 7, ensured PBKS reached the target in 12.1 overs.
With this victory, Punjab Kings climbed to the second spot on the IPL 2025 points table, boasting 10 points from seven matches. RCB, on the other hand, remains in fourth place with eight points from seven games.
