The Indian national football team secured a commanding 3-0 victory over the Maldives in an international friendly on March 19, 2025, breaking their 12-match winless streak. The match, held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Shillong, was highlighted by the much-anticipated return of Sunil Chhetri, who scored a goal in his first game back from international retirement.
