Huawei is making headlines again—this time not with a smartphone or foldable device, but with its sleek, next-gen Eyewear 2 smart glasses. Designed in collaboration with luxury eyewear brand Gentle Monster, these stylish spectacles are turning heads not just for their looks, but for what they can do.
The Huawei Eyewear 2 sports a lightweight and fashionable design that mimics regular eyewear. Unlike bulky AR glasses, this pair keeps it minimalist. Most of the smart tech—like the speakers, microphones, and touch sensors—is cleverly embedded into the temples, ensuring a clean and modern aesthetic.
One of the standout features of Huawei’s smart glasses is the open-ear audio system. This allows users to take calls, listen to music, or hear voice navigation while still being aware of their surroundings—perfect for commuters or multitaskers. Huawei claims up to 11 hours of listening time on a full charge.
Huawei has previously teased real-time translation features in its smart wearable ecosystem. While detailed documentation of the Eyewear 2’s translation support is still emerging, the company’s past tech demos and smart assistant integrations hint at a near-future where travelers could get live translations streamed directly to their ears through the glasses.
The glasses are equipped with touch-sensitive controls on both sides, letting users skip tracks, answer calls, or summon Huawei’s voice assistant with a simple swipe or tap. Connectivity is seamless with Huawei devices, but also works across Android and iOS platforms with limited features.
Whether you're commuting, taking Zoom calls hands-free, or walking through a multilingual city, Huawei’s Eyewear 2 is built for practical smart living. Unlike other mixed reality glasses, these are clearly aimed at the average stylish user rather than hardcore tech enthusiasts.
Huawei Eyewear 2 is currently available in select markets including Europe and Asia, with global rollout expected in the coming months.
