With the Galaxy Unpacked event expected in July 2025, tech enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7. Over the years, Samsung has led the foldable smartphone market, but competition from Oppo, Honor, and Vivo is heating up. That’s why fans are hoping to see meaningful upgrades in the new-generation Fold 7 to keep Samsung’s edge sharp.
One of the most requested improvements is a sleeker and lighter form factor. While Samsung’s previous foldables have sported a boxy design, competitors have introduced thinner alternatives that feel more like traditional smartphones. A refined, compact design for the Z Fold 7 would not only boost aesthetics but also enhance everyday usability.
Durability remains a top concern for foldable users. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 introduced an IP48 rating, but fans are hoping the Z Fold 7 will bring an even higher rating for water and dust resistance. Additionally, better screen materials and a less noticeable crease are on the wishlist to enhance long-term performance and visual experience.
Given the demands of multitasking and gaming on foldables, better thermal efficiency is crucial. Users expect Samsung to integrate an advanced cooling system in the Z Fold 7 to prevent overheating. Another anticipated upgrade is a jump to 16GB RAM, especially with growing AI integration and performance-heavy tasks becoming more common.
Foldables traditionally suffer from limited battery space, but rivals have shown innovation is possible. Samsung currently uses a 4400mAh battery, which many feel doesn’t deliver all-day power. For the Z Fold 7, fans are hoping for a larger, longer-lasting battery that matches the power needs of multitasking users.
While the Z Fold 6 delivered decent photography, it still lags behind Samsung’s flagship S-series in telephoto and zoom performance. The Fold 7 needs better zoom capabilities and improvements to low-light and portrait photography. A competitive camera setup will make the foldable more attractive to premium buyers.
With leaks and rumors intensifying, the anticipation for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is at an all-time high. Samsung has the opportunity to set a new benchmark in the foldable segment — but only if it addresses user concerns with meaningful upgrades.
