Donald Trump played Cyril Ramaphosa videos of what he said was white persecution in South Africa as the two leaders met in the Oval Office.
Mr Trump told the South African president that white farmers were being “persecuted” and “fleeing” the country, demanding an “explanation” for what he said was a “very sad situation”.
“We have thousands of stories talking about it, we have documentaries, we have news stories... it has to be responded to,” the US president said.
