At CinemaCon 2025, held at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Scarlett Johansson took the stage to officially unveil Jurassic World Rebirth—the seventh installment in the globally beloved Jurassic Park franchise. Scheduled to hit theaters on July 2, 2025, Johansson called her involvement in the film the "fulfillment of a 15-year dream."
Jurassic World Rebirth, directed by Gareth Edwards and written by series veteran David Koepp, is set five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion. Earth's climate has become inhospitable to dinosaurs, which now survive only in remote tropical regions.
Johansson plays Zora Bennett, a covert ops expert leading a recovery team on a mission to retrieve preserved genetic material from ancient dinosaurs. A collision with a civilian group lost at sea sends the crew to a mysterious island harboring secrets tied to humanity's past—and future.
Filming took place from June to September 2024 across Thailand, Malta, and the United Kingdom, capturing breathtaking visuals with real-world environments to heighten the immersive dinosaur action.
The film’s first trailer dropped on February 5, 2025, drawing praise for its nods to classic Jurassic Park visuals and suspense. A 60-second teaser aired during Super Bowl LIX on February 9, fueling fan anticipation worldwide.
Jurassic World Rebirth will be released theatrically across the U.S. and Canada by Universal Pictures. IMAX and Dolby Cinema formats are confirmed, promising a grand-scale viewing experience.
Speaking at CinemaCon, Johansson said, “This has been a dream role for me for over 15 years. I’ve loved dinosaurs and this franchise since I was a kid—it’s truly a full-circle moment.”
Fans can expect a thrilling, emotional chapter in the series that pays homage to the franchise's roots while introducing a bold new narrative direction.
