At CinemaCon 2025 in Las Vegas, Sony Pictures officially revealed the title of the next Spider-Man film: Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Tom Holland, reprising his role as Peter Parker, made the announcement via a special video message presented at Caesar’s Palace, confirming the film’s title and teasing an epic continuation of the web-slinger’s journey.
Zendaya returns as MJ Jones-Watson, alongside Jacob Batalon (Ned Leeds), Jon Favreau (Happy Hogan), and newcomer Sadie Sink. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the film will be released in theaters on July 31, 2026.
The movie follows the chaotic events of 2021’s box office smash Spider-Man: No Way Home, where multiversal madness left Holland’s Spider-Man erased from the memories of MJ and his friends. The film’s title, Brand New Day, references a 2008 Marvel comic arc that introduced a new status quo for Peter Parker following the controversial One More Day storyline.
With the multiverse shattered and the world forgetting Peter, fans are eager to see how the beloved character rebuilds his life — and his relationships — in this next phase.
Last October, Tom Holland shared on The Tonight Show that production on the new Spider-Man film would begin in summer 2025. “Everything’s good to go. We're nearly there. Super exciting. Yeah, I can't wait,” he told host Jimmy Fallon.
Fans were treated to a sneak peek of the vibe through a viral Instagram post shared by the official Spider-Man account:
During its presentation, Sony also unveiled upcoming projects including Karate Kid: Legends, Sam Mendes’ Beatles biopics, and the animated Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, which is set to release on June 4, 2027.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day will debut just months after Marvel Studios’ ensemble blockbuster Avengers: Doomsday, scheduled for May 1, 2026, setting up a major summer for superhero cinema.
