In a strong diplomatic gesture, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen visited Greenland to emphasize Denmark’s commitment to the island’s autonomy. Her visit comes amid renewed speculation that the United States is once again showing interest in acquiring Greenland—a strategic Arctic territory rich in natural resources.
Speaking during her official trip, Frederiksen stated, “You cannot annex another country,” making clear Denmark's position on the importance of respecting international law and sovereignty.
