April 24, 2025 — Prime Minister Narendra Modi has issued a firm and emotional statement following the Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir that left 26 civilians dead. Speaking from a public event in Madhubani, Bihar, PM Modi promised that “every terrorist and their backers will be tracked and punished”.
“This is not just an attack on innocent people, it’s an attack on our humanity and unity,” Modi declared. “India’s spirit cannot be broken by cowardly acts of terror.”
Zero Tolerance for Terrorism
The attack, which occurred on April 22, 2025, has been attributed to Pakistan-backed militants. The Indian government has responded swiftly with both diplomatic and military actions.
- Summoned Pakistan’s top envoy in New Delhi
- Suspended the Indus Waters Treaty
- Closed the Attari-Wagah border for trade
- Reduced diplomatic staff in Islamabad
PM Modi’s statement reinforces India’s policy of zero tolerance toward terrorism and reflects growing frustration over cross-border infiltration.
