Mumbai Indians (MI) put on a clinical display to defeat Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by seven wickets in Match 41 of the Indian Premier League 2025, held on April 23 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
Batting first, SRH posted 143/8 in 20 overs, with Heinrich Klaasen anchoring the innings with a gritty 71 off 44 balls. The rest of the lineup faltered under pressure, unable to build meaningful partnerships.
In reply, Mumbai Indians chased the target comfortably, finishing at 146/3 in just 15.4 overs. Captain Rohit Sharma led the charge with a commanding 70 off 46 balls, while Suryakumar Yadav added the finishing touch with a rapid 40 not out off 19 deliveries.
Trent Boult's fiery opening spell dismantled the SRH top order, earning him the Player of the Match award. His precision and pace proved too much for Hyderabad’s batters to handle.
With this victory, MI boost their playoff hopes while SRH faces growing pressure to stay in contention. The league is heating up as teams battle for the top four spots.
